Sony to delay "Home" online service for PS3 again

Sony PS3 HOME Update

According to Reuters Sony of America will be delaying HOME till autumn of this year. HOME is Sony PS3 highly anticipated Microsoft Xbox Live killer. Home™ is a real-time 3D, networked community that serves as a meeting place for PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) users from around the world, where they can interact, communicate, join online games, shop, share content and even build their own personal spaces. Home™ will be available as a free download from the PLAYSTATION®Store and will launch directly from the PS3™ system's Home Menu. Sony has had a private Beta for HOME for some time now.

My guess to why Sony PS3 HOME is still delayed could be that HOME is a little too ambitious for Sony to fully realized. Microsoft Xbox Live has set a high standard with online game play and media distribution. Sony feels that they have a grand hill to climb and they would rather take their time to get to the top without any catastrophic missteps.
