New Dualshock 3 charging station and candy blue controllers

SCEE Japan is offering Japanese gamers a great alternative to charging their PS3 controllers. The most annoying thing about charging your PS3 controller is the 6 inch USB plug Sony provides you. This prank size cord tether's you right on top of your HD TV.

If you are the type of person that tends to stick with Sony products this may be a great alternative to other after market accessories or the prank size USB cord. Sony has unveiled a new charging station that is called the Dualshock 3 Charging Station and has ports for plugging on two PS3 controllers to charge. The station looks nice and has the same black color as the standard PS3 controllers. The Charging Station will charge both the Dualshock 3 and Sixaxis controllers from an AC outlet leaving those USB ports on your console free for other things.

The charge dock comes with little adapters that are plugged into the USB port on the controllers and left there. Once the user is done with the controllers all they have to do is set the controllers in the dock to charge. The Charging Station will sell for 2,480 yen and a new Dualshock 3 controller in Candy Blue is offered as well that will sell for 5,500 yen. Both new accessories will ship in Japan on April 21.
