Are the Cut Scenes in Metal Gear Solid too Long?

They are some opinions out there that MGS4 is a 20hr movie with very limited game play. There is almost misinformation about 90 plus minutes cut scenes. In my opinion Metal Gear Solid 4 would not be MGS without high production cut scenes that drives the story along.

Metal Gear Solid 4 Hideo Kojima masterpiece has finally grace HD displays all over the world. I would not go into how great MGS4 is or how it should be hands down the GOTD you can reference metacritic an see that MGS4 is the highest rated game since Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time one of my all time favorite games.

Cut Scenes is a sequence in a video game over which the player has little or no control, often breaking up the gameplay and used to advance the plot, present character development, and provide background information, atmosphere, dialogue and clues. Cut scenes can either be animated or use live action footage according to Wiki.

Metal Gear Series has always rely on stealth and cut scenes to show and tell how the story unfolds. Cut Scenes has been a part of video games since 1985 with Enix's Portpia Renzoku Satsujin Jiken.

After I played and finished MGS4, I return to GTA IV another great multi-platform game for Sony PS3 and Xbox360. I noticed that GTA IV is littered with cut scenes throughout the game with many a few minutes long. There's really not too much mention regarding GTA IV cut scenes or debate. Now, I know GTA IV and the 20 years that MGS4 had to explain are two different animals.

I personally enjoyed and appreciated the cut scenes done throughout Metal Gear Solid 4 and felt that they were not too long. Metal Gear Solid 4 had to revisit and answer 20 years of story line, you can do two things to tell this epic story: you can go the ways of Mass Effect's boring dialogue system or you can have Hollywood quality cut scenes that would make Michael Bay very jealous. I prefer the latter with excellent graphic and Hollywood sound production.

If you are a Metal Gear fan the length of the cut scenes would not bother you, because they're very well done and utterly engaging. Anyone who has never ventured into the Metal Gear universe may be lost and may not appreciate the story and compound the complexion of the controls may make things a little more frustrating then it may appear.

If you have not played Metal Gear series and is very interesting in picking up a must have game for your Sony PS3. I heavily recommend you download the MGS4 interactive data base and review and get caught up with the MGS universe or if you have a fully intact PS3 that is Backward Compatible and a little extra cash, head to Ebay and find cheap copies of MGS, MGS2, MGS3 and enter a universe that some do not know exist. And scientist right now are trying to prove it exist watch video below:
