InFamous 2 Release Date Announced

Open-world super-heroic simulator InFamous 2 will be released in North America on June 7, 2011! The game, a PS3 exclusive, was developed by Sucker Punch Productions, the team behind the original InFamous.

"Combining all-new dynamic open world gameplay and an evolved karma system, the second chapter in the best-selling franchise promises to bring back everything fans loved about inFamous and more," said Scott A. Steinberg, vice president, product marketing, SCEA. "inFamous 2 is Sucker Punch's most ambitious game yet and is poised to once again be PS3's summer blockbuster with a more visceral, emotional and powerful take on the true superhero experience."

Scheduled to be released simultaneously with the game, the inFamous 2 "Hero Edition" will feature:

• A detailed, 8.5" Cole statue,
• A replica of Cole's sling messenger bag,
• The inFAMOUS mini comic from DC Comics, and
• A collector's edition soundtrack with bonus tracks.
• Vouchers for in-game exclusives include the new Lightning Hook power that snares enemies and objects towards Cole, the Electrocution Grenade power that shocks nearby enemies with arcing electricity and immobilizes them before detonation,
• A Kessler character skin that allows players to play as the sinister antagonist from the first installment, and a 24K Gold Amp to melee enemies in style.

New inFAMOUS 2 Trailer

Karma moments from inFAMOUS are now represented by character-driven dialogue and 3D mocap cutscenes. Your conscience comes into play with the introduction of Kuo and Nix, two NPC characters. Kuo is a NSA agent working to help Cole defeat the Beast. Nix is a New Marais native that grew up in the swamps around New Marias, whose hatred for Bertrand stems from witnessing him kill her family. She is your hedonistic guide that coaxes Cole into not thinking about the consequences of his actions.

inFamous 2 Gameplay Footage

New game footage of inFamous 2 has surfaced and it's looking damn good. With inFamous 2 looking to expand on all the concepts that were introduced in the original, inFamous 2 is shaping up to be a major title when it sees release some time in 2011. Plus the original inFamous was one of my favorite games this generation. I am eagerly looking forward to continue Cole's journey.

inFamous Gets The Comic Book Series

InFamous always wanted to be a comic book. It was evident in the comic book-style cut scenes that told the story of the original game and are being used to similar effect in the upcoming inFamous 2. Cole MacGrath is a comic book superhero, and soon he'll have his comic book series. Six comic books, to be precise, written by William Harms with interior art by Eric Nguyen, an artist that has worked on various Marvel and DC projects over the years.

The six-issue series will follow Cole's move from Empire City to the Southern town of New Marais, introducing a new threat to all of mankind.
